Hi everyone! I’m Alisha.
Welcome to Conversational Phrases!
We’ve found that the best way to learn a language is to speak it from day one! And the best way to start speaking is to learn phrases that you’ll use in real conversations.
In this lesson, you’ll learn conversational phrases to answer the question, "What are you good at?" After watching this video, you’ll be able to talk about what you’re good at doing.
Now, let’s take a look at some conversational phrases!
Listen to the dialogue.
Waar ben je goed in?
Ik ben goed in talen.
Once more with the English translation.
Waar ben je goed in?
“What are you good at?”
Ik ben goed in talen.
“I'm good at languages.”
First of all you'll need to learn how to say “What are you good at?”
That's: Waar ben je goed in?
Listen to it again: Waar ben je goed in?, Waar ben je goed in?
This Dutch sentence literally translates as “Where are you good in?” But it means “What are you good at?”.
Now, how do you answer this question?
The pattern is:
Ik ben goed in [skill].
This Dutch sentence literally translates as “I am good in [skill].” But it means “I'm good at [skill].”.
For example:
“I'm good at languages.”
Ik ben goed in talen., Ik ben goed in talen.
