Hoi Anton Suprajogi,

Thank you for your question ๐Ÿ‘

There are many Dutch adverbs and to go over them one by one would take quite a few lessons so I think by trying to make short sentences, reading Dutch and by learning the various meanings of the adverbs you will get the hang of it. Just remember that a "bijwoord" always gives you extra information about the word that it belongs to and that word is usually a verb/adjective/different adverb or a place or time.

Succes!

Yes! I could actually start using it in English 'look at that cute little kikker in the stream' - it matches what frogs do - kick! But I also have a hard time with Dutch 'r' sound in many words - but I can actually say 'kikker' right (I think!). My natural 'r' is a very lateralized, back of my tongue, 'American' sounding 'R', so like 'er', 'erg', and other Dutch words with a trilled 'r' are difficult for me to say correctly - I'm sure I will always have an American accent when speaking Dutch! But for some reason, 'kikker' just sounds nice in my mouth! haha. funny.

I've also adopted 'lekker' into my regular English vocabulary - the ironic part is that if I say it out loud, no one else knows what it means :( But it makes sense in my mind!

Hoi Susie ,

Thank you for your comment ! Haha, you like the word "kikker" ? Nice, because of the way it sounds ?

Do you know the expression - "verkikkerd zijn op iemand" ? Don't think it is used that much these days but

it means that you are crazy about someone !โค๏ธ๏ธ Wow, had no idea but there are a lot of expression with "kikker" in it lol...

I like "Klaploper" :)) Funny sounding + funny meaning.

And i like "Doei" too because In Russan (I'm from Russia) it sounds exactly like imperative form for "blow" and the slang version of "get out of here!"
